As far as names go Sasha is one of the most recognisable in the dance music game. Even those who know nothing about dance music can confess to have heard about him.
A legend in Ibiza generally makes you a legend anywhere else on the planet if house music is your game so as the summer approaches and the masses pack Easyjet flights out to the island to see him work his magic how does he feel things have evolved there?
In an interview with ibiza-voice.com the 38-year-old from Hawarden, Wales gives his low-down on the jewel in the Balearic crown.
“This summer is going to see big changes. You can look back and say ‘it’s not as good as it was but it’s just different. Music has changed, fashion has changed,” he said.
While there is a twinge of ‘that’s just the way it is’ in his reply, he’s less tactile when it comes to the “freaky side” of Ibiza.
“Ibiza used to be about freedom. The music was very eclectic and there was an amazing, interesting crowd. Now it feels forced,” he said, before going on to add he won’t be attending Garlands vs the Hacienda night at Eden, branding it “sacrilegious”.
They say nobody likes change, it seems Sasha can handle it in small doses.
